We’re just back from a quite fantastic second tour of Australia! We’d like to thank all the festivals and promoters for having us over and looking after us so well and our agent, Val McGarry for making it all possible. And, last but certainly not least, we’d like to give a huge thanks to everyone who came along to see us and made every gig so much fun. Ceud taing!
After a great first week touring about Queensland and the upper part of New South Wales, we worked our way south and hit the first festival of the tour at The National Folk Festival in Canberra. This was the highlight of our first tour in Australia three years ago and certainly did not disapoint this time around! It was there we first hooked up with our new pals from he terrific Irish “green-grass” band JigJam (check them out, folks) who would become our travelling companions for the next ten days as we gigged in Sydney before heading over to the west coast for a gig in Fremantle and the Fairbridge Folk Festival. Another top time was had there and we can’t thank the JigJam lads enough for all the tunes and craic! After flying back to Brisbane, it was time for a few more gigs in that neck of the woods before we rounded off the tour at the Australian Celtic Festival in Glen Innes and the Planting Festival up in Woodford. Great music, wonderful hospitality, plenty beach days, brilliant crowds, the occasional barbie and a whole lot of laughs: hopefully won’t be too long before we’re back!
